Parent/Carer/Guardian advice for Remote Learning
As you will be aware from the national news (4th January), the government has announced a national lockdown. While, for most schools, this means that they will be closed for the majority of students until further notice, Educate U remains open for all students.
If you have made the decision not to send your child in during this national lockdown, we have provided an individual timetable for each child so that they are able to have online lessons, during their normal timetabled lesson time slots; this includes 1:1 lessons and opportunities to join their class friends as they would do if they were at school.
How does my child access this?
Your child's timetable would have been sent to you in advance of their online provision. All lessons take place on Zoom. Your child's teacher or TA will email you Zoom invites for each lesson in advance. You will need to have downloaded the free app to an electronic device. Once this is downloaded, by putting the information provided to you will allow you to enter the virtual waiting room. Your child's teacher will then allow you to enter the lesson when it is due to start.
Do I need to log onto each session?
Yes. Each lesson will have a separate code and password. Please make sure you logout after each lesson.
How will my child be supported?
The lessons are either live or 1:1. Your child's teaching staff will constantly check in with your child and encourage them to participate. Each class has dedicated TA support who will be able to offer support on a bespoke basis for each child.
My child is struggling with remote learning.
Our staff are highly trained to deliver bespoke provision for each of our children. If your child is experiencing difficulty with this type of learning, please contact us directly and we will put together a different programme which will support your child.
